What is the RAL scale

The RAL CLASSIC catalog currently contains 213 colors, including 15 pearlescent, 5 luminescent, and 2 iron.

It should be noted that the color table is constantly updated with new colors and shades, since thanks to the emerging pigments, the possibilities of the paint and varnish industry have significantly expanded. The classic common table contains 213 primary colors with detailed color descriptions and alternative names for each shade. Among them, 17 metallics can be distinguished, that is, colors that emit a glossy shine. The rest of the colors are made in semi-matt quality. The color of each shade was developed under average environmental conditions under standard lighting.

Each color has been assigned numbers consisting of four numbers. The first digit in the number means a color group, for example, yellow colors start with the number 1, red - with the number - 3, blue - with the number 5, etc. More accurate shades of the same primary color were indicated by subsequent numbers in the number.

For example, yellow has shades of sandy yellow (1002), honey yellow (1005), yellow gold (1004), lemon yellow (1012), etc. But when choosing a color, it will be more correct to focus only on numbers, and not on figurative names of colors.

* The colors shown below are electronic samples of the RAL color standard. They are selected taking into account the standard RGB settings of a computer monitor. However, the shades you may see on your device screen or when printed from a printer may differ slightly from actual colors. If it is important for you not to make a mistake with the choice of shade for painting, we recommend using the RAL K-7 catalog.
